Title: Mounting a Side Step here?

I am looking to put a side step on my 84 chevy but it has 2 gas tanks and it looks like the only place to attach a sidestep would be the frame....on that little lip you see in the picture.  I am concerned that it wont be strong enough or may bend over time.  Any thoughts on that?

I wouldn't put it on there if you actually plan to use it.

ok..thanks for the good advice.   funny how my neighbor (who owns an old truck also) is full of bad advise! lol
