So I got this today.....
Service body was already off it, motor/tranny/t-case and front axle is also been stripped. Cab is in good shape (doors are solid and open and close nice) and it will be the basis for the build. Frame is good as well.
Now as to what I will be using for a powertrain.......sorry guys, but it is getting a cummins. With a dana 60 front, 70 rear, gutbag 360 tranny and 205 t-case, all out of a 93 W350.
Plan is to lift it 5" with superlift 4" lift springs (heavy cummins and bumper need high spring rate) and 1" Zero Rate by ORD to move the axle forward 1.5". Rear will get either a shackle flip or skyjacker 4" softrides with the 1" Zero Rate. Crossover steering, 37" humvee takeoffs, with 16.5" recentered hummer rims with 8 bolt beadlocks.
Will lose the saddle tanks, shorten the frame up, put in a blazer/sub tank, flat deck the back/exo cage the whole truck likr the green one in the pic. Kinda what I will model mine after, but need to be able to still have somewhat of a bed to haul my rocket around on.
Will be my daily driver and should have most of the work finished by May.

So what's the last pic? ???

So what's the last pic? ???
Last pic is the way I want to do the exo cage. But I need a deck on the back that is functional. The pic is more of a truggy than a truck, and I need to haul stuff.

Sounds like a cool build, i think i seen your last pic on pirate...

Yup thats the last pic. The rig is called 2livecrew and there is a full build on it there. Very nice rig, but 47's is a lil too big for me, especially being a daily driver and all.
-
Yea 47s are much, my 39s make my truck huge so i know what you mean...lol
-
I'll go with 37's for now, and maybe get a set of 40/42's for the trails after. $$ will dictate.
-
That is going to be awesome.
There is just something about SRW K30 3+3's... Love 'em!!
-
I know....always had love for the 3+3's ever since I was a kid. Hard to come by here. Usually rusted right out, but this cab and doors are solid.....floor pan needs a bit of attention on the drivers side, but nothing too major.

Any updates on your project?

Yeah, don't have any pics right now. But gathering parts for the build. We've got the w350 stripped of the body. Might look at boxing the frame. Diy4x4 is starting to make kits that are almost weld ready. So I may strip the frame completely, blast it, get rid of all the rivets, and powdercoat the frame or coat it in por15 or the like. When I find out more, I will get on it, and post up pics.
Picked up a complete 76 2wd crewcab single rear wheel ($200) for parts as well, and might have an 81 crew 2wd coming as well (another $200). Bodies are rough on both, but lots of good parts, both have 14 bolt ff rears and complete interiors in need of some work.

So no pics at the mo...camera is still at the shop with the truck.
But here is a rundown of whats been happening:
Dodge has been stripped, powertrain is out. My buddy is going to rebuild the getrag for me, and the transfer case. (should be done by next week), and we will do the kdp, and bump timing while we have room to work.
Remember that this is all being done during days off and spare time. But has to be driveable by the 26th of april.
Parts that have arrived are:
Rough country 4" lift
DIY4x 1 ton shackle flip and switch
DIY4x ez inch's
Trans rebuild kit
T-case rebuild kit
Dana 70 rear disc brake kit
14" Bilstein 7100 remote resi shocks

Denny T stage 2 fuel pin
3 in 1 - 60lb Boost/Pyro/Temp gauge
Manual line lock for e-brake

Update, but not a good one.....
Got the chev stripped down to the frame, and low and behold the frame is tweaked. Its bad enough that its not cost effective to straighten it. So a hunting I go for another frame.....
Pics still yet to come.
Trans and t-case have been rebuilt.
