ok i have been with this problem since i got my 84. well now my windows are tinted and i need to get tha a/c- heat working. well since saying that here tha problem. the air blows but its hot air. so i added some freon from autozone but to my luck it still blows hot,but when i but the lil gauge that comes with tha freon it said warning like something is wrong. but i didn't even put a whole can in. so could it be something more major or just the gauge is not reading right.

Kinda hard to follow, are you saying it doesn't switch from hot to cold at all or it's just not cool enough? Is your system R134a or R12? Are you trying to charge from the hi or low side?
-
well as of right now its nothing in the system. but before it was empty i wasn't getting cold at all. it was more warm than anything.
-
any one ?
-
well since there was nothing in the system you probably waisting money trying to put something in it since you probably have a leak. you probably need more that Freon in there also
-
I'd go get it vacuated at a shop. If it holds steady vacuum for at least 30 minutes, then you can go about recharging the system.

any one ?
You didn't answer my questions. Hard to help without knowing.

You should have the system evacuated, and leak checked. Then they can add oil, freon and even a dye. Its a good time to check and change the o rings and orifice cause it can get clogged.
