I have that 91 crew, but the gauges and harness were stripped by the previous owner. Now are all the dash frames built the same? Will I be able to take gauges out of any year and have them bolt up? I may have access to a complete setup out of a 78 (I think). Including the fuel tank switch.
What differences are there and what should I be looking for? (remember there is a 12v cummins going in, so no need for many electronics)

78-up will bolt in, anything prior will require special stuff. 73-75 I wouldn't attempt without a rewire.
-
Well, everything is going to be new wiring. Start fresh with prolly a 21 fuse kit. Went out and under closer inspection, there is no wiring in it at all.

Here's a question I couldn't find in search....
What years had the factory tach option? Seein as I plan on a diesel, I would like a tach, but not an aftermarket gaudy thing. Factory would be sweet.
-
73-81 has the factory tach, but most wiring setups are not detailed for the AMP setup on the 73-75s.

Turns out the donor truck I could get the cluster for free is a 77.....time to keep looking I guess.
-
It should be ok, you would just need a mechanical oil line from it.

Actually I may be able to snag the line of the donor as well. Not too fond of mechanical, but if it is free.........
