I have an 86 long bed 2wd that has a bad TH350 in it now. I would like to go with the 700r4 and want to know what mods need to be done to fit this in or will it just bolt in. Thanks...

If your Transmission has the 9" tail, you should be able to move the crossmember back to the predrilled 700R4 hole and reuse your driveshaft.
-
Yes, it has the tail. I'll get under there and look for the holes, Thanks Capt...

All the swb trucks Ive messed with didn't have two sets of holes and I have never had a problem with a trans swap from a th350 to a 700 or vice versa
maybe the lwb are different.

well if it don't have the holes bolt the trany in place w/ cross member sitting on the frame and bolted to the trany if no holes still line up then take the cross member out put in on the underside of the frame and mark and drill
-
Putting it on the bottom and marking/drilling won't put it in the right spot.
All 82 and up trucks should have all the holes drilled for all transmissions. All the ones I have had do.

Haven't had a chance to get under there and look yet, but I'll let you know...

why not if you line it up with the trany mount then square it up to the frame ?

There is angles involved and you end up drilling the holes to far back. Been there done that.
