Title: What is the sensor coming out of the left rear side of oil filter housing

My 87 suburban (5.7)has developed an oil leak which drips onto the leftside exhaust down tube. The sensor has wires going into it from the top and it has a metal cone protecting it? I found the oil pressure sensor on the back top of the motor so what the heck is this other sensor? I haven't been able to find it anywhere in the manual which isn't a surprise!

It is the oil pressure switch.
