i went to California last week and drove home my new toy. It's a 1975 Cheyenne short wide that is just about done. It has all original body panels, no rust, recent paint. Also complete new custom interior, leather dash pad and headliner, new matching door panels and seat covers. Rebuilt 383 and 400 trans. 373 rears. New polished intake, ceramic headers and carb. American Torque Thrusts. It's an air truck but needs the air hooked up and a couple of minor things. I'll probably sell my 78 short wide Silverado now. Here are some pics of the new truck.

one more thing - I already complimented your truck- but after looking at the full size pictures of this fine, fine hoopty - I gotta say again...this thing is niiiiiiice...
I think I hate you now...and if you got it for free, reasonable or "heck of a deal" - I don't want to know...LOL

Wow... so nice!!! I hope my truck will look half that good some day!

love the truck and the 383 nice

Yes Vile, I drove it home (700 miles) from California last week - and good eye low budget, the steering wheel is on backwards. The guy I bought it from was a big guy and I'm not small so it will stay that way. I got it for less than I had budgeted for my 78 Silverado, so it was a no brainer. Now the hard part, do I keep the 78 loaded Silverado or not - I already have my wife's vote - you can imagine what it is!! Thanks for the kind words guys.
-
keep the 78 you can never have to many ;)
-
Keep the 78 and just take your time with the build, and drive the wheels off the 75 ;)

Looks like its time to change your Avatar. If the car in your avatar now is what I think it is, Id really rather have it. Sorry guys, there is one car that I love more than any other car in existance>>>>66 Chevelle. When it comes to that car, things I have that are not for sale, immediately come open for discussion.

nice! ;)

Sweet Ride!! 8)

I tried to change the avatar yesterday but couldn't get it to work. I wish I had that car back. You're close it's a 66 El Camino. Factory 396/4 speed with buckets and console, guages and rare power windows. Aztec Bronze with black interior - I should have kept it. That picture is from the west coast Chevelle/El Camino meet. I took first in class and the presidents award, best car in show. I should have kept it...

Very nice. Clean and straight. Hope to see it in person some day.
And as far as the 'better half' is concerned, there is no such thing and too many trucks.
