hey peeps i have been on here askin some questions about dropping my truck already. but i just wanna be sure what task is at hand before i try and tackle it. i am wanting a 5/5 drop on my 83 shortbed. so far i thought about using djm 3" drop spindles and finding a set of 2" lowering springs and just the "U" bracket for flipping the rear and using the stock U bolts and stuff. my question is do i need to know anything else, what will need to be changed if any? will i still be able to get it aligned? if there is anything you think i should know, please tell. dont want to be blind sided by anything. if anybody has done this 5/5 drop do tell of what all went down in your adventure lol. alright thanks

Be careful using your old u-bolts. Most people recommend replacing them and alot of the times they can be damaged while trying to remove them. I reused mine and so far no problems. As far as I know you shouldn't have any problems aligning it.

alrighty. i can probably get some u bolts else where that wont cost so much i think. i know going through the lowering kits for u bolts is pretty expensive. thanks for the input.

Truck sells u-bolts for about $13 a pc with nuts and washers. I haven't checked but the Capt may carry them or have a vender for them.

I get all my U-bolts locally as I can't compete with their cost.
