Title: Trans Conv vac Sw
Post by: mrscot83 on October 07, 2009, 09:01:52 am
83 Scottsdale, 76 350, 85 700R4, 83 Quadra carb
OK, I noticed this Trans conv vac sw on the diagram, under the hood when I purchased the truck from an auction.  I saw that the hose coming from the cannister that was supposed to go to this switch was not plugged into anything.  I figured it's running and shifting OK, so why mess with it?  Now I am getting my 700R4 rebuilt.  I want to know what this switch does and where this switch is?  The hose is maybe a couple of feet...I am pretty sure someone here knows exactly what I'm talking about.  For all I know, that unplugged hose could have lead to the demise of my tranny.  I am lost on this one.
Actually, now that I think about it, there's all kinds of things disconnected - wires, hoses....Every time I touch it, I find something...sheesh

Your truck must have came from the same person mine did.  I bet there are 5 or 6 electrical plugs not used and something on the firewall that looks like it should have a vaccum hose attached.
