we went to a car lot in greeley colorado where they had this ford f-150 show truck they had given like 16k for on trade. the sales manager said if they had thought about how many man hours it takes to clean all of that chrome they wouldnt have given 2k for it. said it took one guy better than 2 days to clean off the spots from them trailering it in.

this was better than 10 years ago.. wish i could remember what the name of the car lot was but they only really dealt in collectible cars, they had that truck, a hurst olds, and an 396 chevelle in the indoor showroom with a couple really nice older fold and merc sedans.

The amount of chrome and polish on the undercarriage on that thing was ridiculous. It would made it undriveable, so the blown 383 poking through the hood is a waste. Even the exhaust pipes and mufflers were chromed or polished. Driveshaft, rear end, everything! I sure wouldn't have chosen that paint scheme to go wtih the rest of the theme of the truck though......ewww. The chroming bill probably came close to what the guy bought it for.
