Post by: beastie_3 on October 10, 2009, 03:08:31 pm
How can I tell if I have a press fit, or keyway power steering pump? Its on a 1979 K10 V8. I couldnt find anything in the search.

Key-way type has a nut holding the pulley on, press fit doesn't and is flush with the pulley.

OK, Ill take a look at my truck and check it out. I also read that there is also a metric version for 79+. Reason Im asking is because I might be interested in doing a March serpentine pulley conversion.

Metric uses o-rings on the ends of the hoses.  Serpentine of newer style Chevy spins the waterpump opposite so you will need a waterpump and clutch fan off that setup if you go stock.
