I have an 83 silverado 2wd. that I am doing a budget build on. I have had nothing but problems getting stuff together for this thing. Parts are few and far between for these trucks here! I did luck up and found a 91 suburban 2wd. that had the front clip that I wanted and several other things like the rear end. It had 3.73 gears with factory gov-loc which is like the hardest thing to find here. Problem is, it is a 10 bolt and the truck is 12! How hard is to change these out? I am going to use the 700r4 tranny from the burb as well, what am i gonna have to do about the drive shaft. I assume the original one from the truck that had a th350c wont work with the 700???

Rearend will swap out. As for the driveshaft you either need to change the end or get a hybrid U-joint to mate the existing one to the 10bolt.

Thanks for the reply!
That is what I thought but it never hurts to make sure!! As far as the drive shaft, since I am going with the 10 bolt from the burb and the 700r tranny would a shaft from an 87-91 SWB truck work??

What is wrong with the driveshaft you have currently?
-
Nothing that I know of. Just didnt think that the slip yoke would work. The one i have is from a 350turbo and I am goin with the 700r. Will it still work?!?

Is your current 350 a long tail?
-
Yes
-
If it is 9" long, you may be able to use it.

Guess I need to check it and see if it fits then!!
