"The ballot is stronger than the bullet."
Abraham Lincoln
Therefore, with that bit of information, I will heed more of Lincoln's advice (see below) on election day....
"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. "
Abraham Lincoln
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

"Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm."
Abraham Lincoln
"My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure."
Abraham Lincoln
"To stand in silence when they should be protesting makes cowards out of men."
Abraham Lincoln
"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can excersize their Constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember it or overthrow it."
Abraham Lincoln
"No man is good enough to govern another man without that others consent."
Abraham Lincoln
"The worst thing you can do for anyone
you care about is anything that they can do on their own."
Abraham Lincoln
"I am a great believer of people and if given the real truth they can be depended upon to meet national crises the great point is to bring them the real facts."
Abraham Lincoln
I truly believe this one [above] as well.
I don't care what affiliation you are, as long as you know the facts before voting. That is what makes America great. It is obvious we have slipped over the last decade or two and I wonder if it is because people aren't getting the facts. The facts will not drop in your lap. It takes effort to make this country great again.

Yes, a very wise man. Trouble is, it is hard to find an equal today for office.

Thank you sir. I just know what I enjoy reading--the obvious truths.
Abe was such a whitty guy. When he heard criticism of General Grant's drinking, after Grant had proven himself on the battlefield commanding troops, and, just before he led the Union to victory in the Civil War, Lincoln pretty much shut those opponents up.
"Well, I wish some of you would tell me the brand of whiskey that Grant drinks. I would like to send a barrel of it to my other generals. "
Abraham Lincoln
He was one-of-a-kind. Could you imagine what a modern-day politician such as whitty, intelligent, Honest Abe would be like today? No one would want to oppose his wise cracks, because they are all true and he could embarass the best of them.

This country could use alot more straight-shooters, that's for sure....
