how many pumps of grease do i put in the grease fittings on the shaft?
-
last ones I did, I filled them up with grease until some started to come out
-
alright thanks...with the grease fitting on the ball joint, where it screws into, there isnt any threads on eather of the control arms i got, are they supposed to be like this or do i have to put my own threads?
-
No the fitting will make its own threads. just screw it in straight. just pump grease in it till you can see the boot start to swell.
-
there aren't any threads so i cant screw it in
-
Your grease fitting has no threads? Then get one that does. Or get a zerk fitting tool

no the fittings are fine, where they screw into ontop of the ball joints is where there are no threads
-
They could be drive-in zerks. Look and see if the have threads or are they just rings. Put one between fingernail's and twist, if it dont screw out, it's a drive-in zerk.
-
so if its a drive-in zerk then do i just hit it in with a hammer?
-
No! Righty tighty! Push inward with your finger while you thread it in.
-
i did and it wouldnt go in....from what i understand a drive-in zerk doesnt have threads it has "rings" around it
-
take a 1/4 drive socket the size of the zerk, . Then PUSH DOWN as you try and screw it in, it is a self tapping zerk, no company takes the time to thread the BJ for the zerk. and DO NOT drive it in with a hammer. :'(
You have just been banned for 30 days for that comment. -ADMIN

calm down!...not everyone is an expert with everything...and i did exactly what you said and it wouldnt go in
-
you might need to put some paper or something to fill up the socket a little bit to keep the zerk from going too far into the socket and not letting you apply pressure..Is the socket bottoming out on the top of the ball joint?
-
nope its not bottoming out, and i used a short socket so it wasnt going up into the socket
