Title: Frame question
Post by: HAZARDOUSDUTY on October 25, 2009, 08:36:00 pm
Okay I know this might not be the right place for this but I have a question that I hope someone out there can help me with. I just bought a 1962 Chevy 4x4 and I am trying to find out what newer year frame that I would be able to put this truck on. It has the original 4x4 system under it now and I just want to put the body on a newer 4x4 frame. Any help with this would be greatly appricated. Thank you.

I guess what I am asking is, is there any year frame with the same wheel base that I could use without having to do much modifying? If there is, what am I looking at modifying? I was hoping there would be a frame out there with the same wheel base that I would be able to take the 62 body and put on the newer frame. Thank you for your help.

Well a 1984 K10 has a wheelbase of 131.5 according to the sticker in the glovebox.

The 67-72's have the same wheelbase, the 73-87's are longer by 2.5"
