Title: another project
Post by: choptop on October 30, 2009, 05:59:22 pm
Well, this just came in today. The price was right(free and delivered) and I have enough spare parts to put it back in good shape. It is yellow, but is so oxidized, it looks tan. Im not sure of the year. The door says 5/78 so I guess that means its either a late 78 or early 79, will know once the title gets here. Its a K20, full time 4x4, th400 transmission, and a 400 ci small block. The cab mounts are shot, but I have a perfect 77 cab that will fit once I change the senter hump out. The bed is in pretty good shape, and Ill have to repplace the fenders as well ( all of which I have) The tranny is stout, but it needs a timing chain(they think) and the valves redone. The short block supposedly has about 50,000 miles on it. Dana 44 front, 14 bolt rear. Not sure of the gears of the transfercase (205?) This is the first one of five that I recently made a deal for. The other four Ill post when they get here, but the best one is still coming. Its an 80 swb, L69 305 out of an SS Monte Carlo, just needs a tranmission, and grille.( I have them too) More on that later, but in all 5 trucks with 2 454's I will have about $1200

Your transfer case should be a NP203 (the fulltime aspect is a giveaway). Nothing about $150 worth of parts can't change into a part-time unit saving gas and the wear and tear on the front end.
