Title: Shorty tanks on a crewcab?
Post by: Chevalade on November 01, 2009, 03:43:21 am
What are the chances that the shorty saddle tanks will fit/bolt in under a crewcab? Will the fillers be under the cab? I plan on having a 1" body lift so I should be able to extend the fill necks behind the cab.

Reason for it, is I plan on shortening the frame, and also won't have room to put a blazer tank in the back, but if the shorties will fit, I can put them in and shorten the frame 13" so the front hangers are at the back of the tanks.

I tried to mount 16 gallon tanks on my 1976 Crew cab and the bracket mounting space was different. Nothing too hard to change, but I didn't feel like messing with it. Maybe it had something to do with the tanks being 80s model though.

Yeah I don't mind a lil fiddling. They are tanks of an 84 I do believe going under a 91 crew so may mount right up.....I am thinking the frame size difference may be the only potential hassle.
