This is my 83 GMC that I have been building for drag racing. I only have one pic on the computer right now, but I will post some specs.
It has GM 350 H.O. crate engine with a Demon 750 carb, Dynomax headers, Holley Blue fuel pump. The trans is a TCI TH350 with a Ptc torque converter. It also has a Currie 9inch rear end with disc brakes. It is lowered with 3in. DJM spindles in the front and 4in. shackle and hanger kit in the rear. It had run a best of 8.90 in the 1/8th with this combination, but have yet to run it with some new changes. I have since removed both fuel tanks and installed a 17 gallon fuel cell which should have shaved plenty of weight off. I also installed M&H drag radials, Competition Engineering traction bars, MSD 6AL with Pro Billet distributor, along with removing a few other things for weight savings.
We will see what happens next time at the track. Glad to see a forum for these trucks.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. Do you plan to dig into the motor?

I didn't plan on going into the motor but I didn't plan on doing everything I have done to it so far either. I guess that will be decided, when I see how it does next track season. My goal is to get into the 7's without changing any internals of the motor it doesn't matter if it is 7.99 I would just like to be in the 7's.

which PTC stall are you running? and what gear in the back?
i would def like to know how you got a 8.90 on motor.
ive got into the mid 8's on giggle gas but only high nines on the motor( and the motor is not nitrous built )

If I remember right it is about a 2500 stall, and the gears are 3.70's. When I first put the motor in this truck I was running a 10 flat, and every change just made it faster. I think this motor making its torque down low is why its so quick. I think its peak torque is a 380 ftlbs at 3800 rpm. I also have an 06 GTO and when it was stock it was running the same times as the truck. I just couldn't see how that was possible but turns out the truck is the lighter of the two by nearly 150 lbs. Maybe I just got lucky.

alright sounds like a good setup.
im still rockin a 2k stall and i figured thats most of my problem.
