ok guys, gettin lots of people tellin me different thing on what front axle is in my 1977 k-20 4x4, 350 4 speed. most say its a dana 44, had few said it was a dana 60. i know for a fact the rear is a 14 bolt full floater with 10.5 ring gear. how can i tell for sure ????

look at the u bolt next to the pumpkin cover that comes off the spring if it wraps around the axle its a 44 if it bolts to the axle its a 60.

Off topic, but do you have a air locker in your front axle? I noticed the yellow air line.

Well it's hard to see from your dark pic but it looks like a corporate 10 bolt to me. Here's an axle id chart unless you can get a better pic.

10-bolt. Not a Dana.

Look at the bottom of the pumpkin. The ears means it is a 10bolt. BTW there is no strenght difference between the 2.

Off topic, but do you have a air locker in your front axle? I noticed the yellow air line.
looks like one of those cheap air lines that come with a walmart compressor. and they just put it on the vent line

Well, look at that....buddy worked at a semi parts store, it was "on the house". It looked cool when everything was clean....
