Title: Bigblock question
Post by: choptop on November 14, 2009, 06:47:23 pm
I got my bigblocks today, and so far am pretty happy. I gotta clean a spot so I can get them in the shop.
one of them shows to be a 68 398 casting number 3916323. Thats awesome to me because I have a 68 Elcamino that I can put it in and have era correct. (not a requirement, just a coincedent Im going with)

The other one is a casting no>361356. It may be a 361956 because thats the only one I can find and I may have not seen the numbers correctly. But it states its a 454. The question I have is that it has "conv" cast into the block. I have 5 bigblocks in the shop now, and this is the only one with this stamped on it. Is there a chance it stands for "conventional" meaning tall deck ir something else? I only paid $200 for the pair and am happy enough with the 396 for the price. Just wnadering what this was so I can determine a route to go with it. Sorry for the pic Thanks guys
