So I am interested in doing the quad headlight upgrade, but only if it provides better lighting, as in, brighter, better beam pattern, etc. If you have done the conversion post here and let me know!
-
Light seems better, I also upgraded the wiring and put lamps in out of a Dakota...2E1 - they are brighter as well.
-
if your not getting 12 volts to your lights you can add a relay to the harness
-
You also could just get some off-road lights and mount them to your bumper. Use a relay and wire it into your high-beams. Just point them low enough that they aren't obnoxious.
-
Thanks for the replies guys.
I was on the highway a few weeks ago at night and passed a blazer with the quad lights, defiantly alot brighter. I will perform this upgrade should I find a rad support cheap enough.
-
On my 94 z71 I removed the composite headlights and put the quad glass headlights on and wow what a huge difference.
-
I am going to do it, the good thing is brights can be adjusted as needed.
-
Well my truck is basically completely dissasembled so im gonna go ahead and make the change...My dad had an old support laying here thats pretty decent but I have to buy a set of headlights and im gonna cut the harness out of a rust bucket he has. I like the look of them but I really dont know if it would be worth the trouble doing it if you have one together.
-
you will have to change your radiator support. to do it right.
-
You shouldn't have to cut any wires. Just unplug the head light harness from the back of the fuse box / bulkhead connector.
-
I've just done this on my truck, and I think the lights are much better now. Looks much better too. :)

Blazin is right about the wire harness
