Title: back glass rubber
Post by: screamin86 on November 21, 2009, 01:09:53 pm
So im swaping out my slider for a soild back glass. My question is are the seals the same between the windows? Mine looks to have been replaced and is in great shape and if i dont have to have the down time waiting on a new seal that would be great. Any and all fast replys are welcome! Thanks guys and gals.

I found that GM sliders use the same size gasket.  Aftermarket ones do not.

Im not 100% sure but mine looks to be original but its tinted and i believe my rpo code sheet says slider but not completely sure. Was maily wondering cause the seal looks awful wide in the channel where the slider is.

i would def. go with a new gasket. the slider is going to be wider where the glass slides. you also might get some wind noise and water leaking. a new gasket might also make it easier to install

I had mine swapped out just 2 months ago from a slider to a solid I got from a regular glass shop. New one went in with the old seal no problems. I had the glass guy do it and he didn't have any problems either.
