Title: Dakota Digital Gauges
Post by: Lifted 74 on November 29, 2009, 09:42:18 am
I've been looking into going with the dakota digital gauges in my '74. Has anyone installed them in their ride? Is it a pain or is it a saturday beer drinking project?

It's not a pain but it takes time and I wouldn't drink beer till after you're done. I have a set for my 74 I'm putting in.

like vile said its not a pain did mine in an hour i think after i found all the parts i lost lol. you replace your speed sensor with one provided run the wires to the gauge's brain replace oil presser sensor run those wire replace temp sensor run those wires and tap into your fuel sensor at the OEM dash cluster harness and tach wire and a wire for the volt gauge then a hot wire to give it power and i think a switch wire. then mount the two buttons. then program your speedo then your done i think. all in all i made it sound a lot harder than it was. i think if you can under stand how to take one sensor out and replace it it will be no problem at all.
