has anyone done this before?? if so how did u do it with the tanks?
-
I seen where on other sites the guys mount a blazer tank in the back and buy the sliders from a toyo (cheap) and fab up brackets for the frame. Theres got to be some guys around Fallon whose trucks you can check out.
-
there is a pretty good site with some people locally that might help but not many full size trucks mostly jeeps

Hey nieghbor..plenty of rigs around with sliders on..one trick i have seen is guys add a small body lift so they can relocate the tanks up more into the body.another option is a blazer gas tank. :)

Sliders and saddle tanks are an oxymoron. They should not be used together. If you want sliders, relocate the tanks, if you want the tanks, don't use sliders. In the end it would be way less work, and way better design.

sorry guys... dumb question maybe.... what are rock sliders?
thanks

they are basically structural nerf bars. they keep the side/rockers of the truck from getting damaged when wheeling.
i was trying to figure out how to put sliders on my 82 SWB and can't with the saddle tanks there. there wouldn't be enough support for the sliders to work properly only anchoring them front and back, they need some support in the middle right where the tank is.

What seems to be the problem? Are you just looking for tank protection, or body protection? Do you need the capacity of both tanks? Why wouldn't a blazer tank in the back work, then you could build sliders?
Need more info on what you need.

i am looking for body protection but dont want to do a blazer tank and like the dual tanks

What are your plans for the truck? If you don't plan on rock crawling it, then some 3/8" plate skidplates should be plenty. Otherwise you can't have both, without sacrificing something.
