I have a friend who painted his truck Hot Rod Flatz red and it was my understanding that it was a one stage paint with flatting agent in it.  Either way your truck looks great!  I am thinking about doing the hot rod black on my stepside!

I noticed, and I'm surprised no one else mentioned it, you say your pickup is an '82 but i see it has the round headlight setup.

Either way, nice lookin' pickup. I planned on makin' my 2wd shortbox look almost exactly like that.

How is it dropped? (Spindles, springs, shackles, flip kit etc...) also what are those wheels off of? and what width backspacing are they?

its got shackles and springs i believer, i dont know how big the drop is but i want it a little lower. there chevy ralley wheels, not the truck kinda but the kind off a older camaro or something like that and their painted black.  Not much has been going on with the truck, just been driving it on the weekened cause of the weather, ordered some new door sill plated cause my truck didnt have any and a few interior pieces i was missing, the biggest purchase was a new black seat cover.  Anyone know how to tell what year my doors r from? i dont wanna order the wrong year style.  Just quit my job but should have another this week so hopefully i can really start taking care of things on it and making it a complete truck

nice truck, your doors look like a 77-87 but I need to see a pics of the inner door panel to be sure if there 77-80  or 81-87 and your drop you could also  take pics of the suspension to tell what was used on the drop

I know how to tell on the suspension part, just havent really paid much attention.  I dont have door panels, thats why i need to know what year my doors r so i can order them, is there something about the inside sheetmetal of the door that u can tell from or?

There is no 77-80 and 81-91 doors, they are all 77-91 doors, which is what yours are.

ur sure on this? im just asking because in the catalog it has door panels for such and such years, i believe the pre 76 door panels r kinda flat at the top and the other ones kinda curve up at the top if this makes any sense?

i was thinking thinking the way my window cranks r and the interior door handle would determine which ones i need

Yes, I am 110% sure.  After 26 years I think I have it down.

The DOOR panels were different 73-76, 77-81 and 81-87.  77-80 and 81-87 door panels will swap back and forth becuase the doors are identical.

73-76 door panels won't go on your doors and look proper.

If your handles are wide and centered to the pivot, and you want panels to match they would be 77-80.

This is 77-80 handles from our store:

This is 81-87 handles from our store:

okay i have that first set of door handles the 77-80, can i just swap the 81-87 door handles over? just trying to clear this all up and make sure i order the correct set i need, id prfer to have the 81-87 style door panels since thats what the rest of the interior in my truck is

my stuff came in finally that i ordered, got to taking some of the molding out and one broke from being so brittle, anyways, kinda got motivated, took my visors out and have them a new coat of paint, there were painted black when i got it but someone did a crappy job, dropped my seat off to have the new upholstery put on, its done.  Now im just going to take care of everyhting, getting some insulation stuff up under the carpet which it didnt have, get a headliner and some other things
