will a grill from a 78 truck fit my 87 suburban? if so what all do i need to take from the 78 to make it work?
-
The whole front clip... hood, fenders, inner fenders, core support. I am not being a smart alec, just they are too dimensionally different.
-
the only difference in the fenders is the flare on the bodyline. inner fenders dont need to be changed, the hood will work as well. im pretty sure the core support will have to be changed, but the main thing i was asking about would be if i needed of the small peices that surround the grill towards the bottom. thanks

Paxton, the inner fenders, hood, fenders, radiator support, fron valance and all the trim including the grill are different starting in 1981.

You can see the differences here in this thread http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=9070.0

X2 on every thing from the doors forward.

x3 Nothing 73-80 will bolt to parts on an 81-87 and vice versa. They are not the same.
