That is awesome!!! I wish that I had one of those also but all I have is the hot wheels version of The Snake and Mongoose from 1969.

Thanks for posting;  i could post for hours(and probably will) about Don Prudhomme as i feel he is one of the most interesting car people around.

Incidentally, 38 mpg is pretty dang good back then as well as now. i don't doubt it was/is achievable.

For christmas we are getting my son a hot wheels drag race track that has the snake and mongoose.  I can't wait till christmas it is gonna be so much fun ;D

Oh yeah. Lots of memories watching Snake race!. Thanks Event! When he Raced the Mongoose McKuen (hope I spelled that right) you were watching history in the making..
