exactly as it says. i need to know the size of the nut that goes on the pinion shaft. It fell off, and while there is damage, there are no broken teeth only wear. therefore i am going to replace the crush sleeve, bearing, and seal and hope for the best until i can get the beretta fixed then start on the truck. Its a 12 bolt seems like the 9and whatever ring gear.

Just order one by your application when you order your other parts.
-
i keep gettin told they cant get it

Where are you getting all your stuff from? A pinion nut should be readily available from anyone that sell those type parts.

a win for vile. thank you very much.
-
if i have a 12 bolt rear end how many inches is it???
-
Inches? as in what? The diameter of the ring gear?
-
no i meant the size of the rear. but its like 8.875 correct? and what years offered 3.23:1 ratio
-
12 bolts are 8.875"
10 bolts are 8.5"
3.23 gears were use for the 81-87(91) trucks

my truck is a 78 Chevy, but the rear has been redone, but the front is all original. this truck was bought new by my grandpa. would 3.73 and 3.23 fight very much when in four wheel drive. I never noticed it, but i haven't driving it in 4 wheel much.
