Title: Who has a 4L80E 4WD in their truck?
Post by: VileZambonie on December 21, 2009, 07:54:59 am
I need a few pix and measurements if anyone can help me out. Again 4x4 4L80E application. I need to know the length of the extension housing and whether or not it's aluminum or iron. Some pix would be cool too. I'm trying to come up with a conversion. Thanks!

It is 4.5" from the rear of Trans to the face of NP205. Here is a picture but it's not much to go by.

i have one in my 91 V2500 sub.  I should have some pics on my hard drive at home.  I don't think I'll be getting under it within the next few days with all the snow and slush.  As much as you have helped us out, I'd more than welcome the opportunity to help you out anyway i can.

Thanks guys, the more pix the better. I have a 2wd 4L80E that I am converting to 4x4. I located an output shaft and 4x extension housing. Now I haven't decided what I'm gunna run for the Tcase yet. This is for my 75 Blazer -462BB EFI, 4L80E, Transfercase options I have; 203 converted, 208 or a 241. I have to check on the spline count on the 203 still so that may not even be a worthwhile option...

Anyway thanks and a few more pix would be great whenever you guys get a chance. Thanks!

I have one in my 2000 crew cab. I can put it on the lift and get pics if you want.
If you run the 241 t-case keep in mind the 89-90 run the mechanical speedo and the 91 runs the electric one.

Yeah the speedo won't be an issue either way as I have multiple gauge options I'm playing with still so whatever combo I go with I will factor that in as I go.

ehhh.... not really practical for any usage this toy will see. Thanks sgtdel but what I need to see is the extension housing set ups since there were several variations of the 4x4.

Viles, I'll try to snap some pics tomorrow (Sunday).  I've had a bit of a cold bug for three days.  Better now, and I can crawl under the sub and snap a few shots.
