I got my tranny out right now and I was wondering if there is a way to extend my 208 transfer case shifter. Ive never liked the short shifter. I would like one as long as my tranny shifter, But when its in hi2 its almost parallel with the floor and when its in low4 its almost touching the seat. If anyone can help me think this one out that would be great. Shift pat. ,(forward)hi2-hi4-N-low4(rear)
Sorry about all the questions in the last couple days but, Its apart now and all your experience is the best source of infermation I could ask for.Thanks...

You want to extend the lever in the floor? You could weld a bar to the end of it, but it would really be awkward if you have a third passenger.

Yeah I wouldn't make it longer, as it will be to close to the dash etc. when in 2x.

I've felt a similar dissatisfaction with the short 4 wheel shifters in these trucks, I really like the length of the shifter in both of my dad's fords, but the tcase shifter is much further back on the floorboard, and the rod is bent to suit, plus the fords have a "narrower" dash, ie, it doesn't extend as far down to the floor.
