Should I buy an aftermartket dash cap, and do they do a good job of covering all of the dash to where the old dash isn't seen? Basically the question is, what would be the easier way to change the color of my dash, it is in good shape so it doesn't need repairs.

paint it if it is in good condition.

BTW, we sell covers and 81-91 dashes.

Yea I bought this one at a swap meet for 50 bucks and it was perfect just not the right color.

I used Duplicolor vinyl dye on my original dashpad, it wasn't cracked bad. Came out nice. Make sure you clean the pad well with soap and water and then wipe it down well with lacquer thinner.

I used gloss for the dressed look, but they also carry a flat black that should come out OEM. SEM dye is an excellent choice if you got the big bucks, I just had the Duplicolor stuff lying around

paint it paint it paint it

Yea I'm probably going to use SEM due to a really bad experience I had painting vinyl with less than quality stuff....I didnt know duplicolor even made anything like that though....

I had good experience with the Duplicolor stuff, but when the can is almost empty it starts spraying funny. I bought Rustoleum dye because autozone stopped carrying Duplicolor, and it sucks, sprays real wet and junky. Oh well I'll use SEM when I'm a baller lol.

Way cheaper than buying a replacement dash, either way.
