Sorry to bust into your thread, but that is really cool man... I used to play a violin when i was a kid for 5 years and now (32) I am finding myself play again, but try to play rock with it. So, kind of opposite of what you posted (but the same idea)... check this out and let me know what you think... this guy rocks.

That's pretty cool if I do say so myself. 8)

How pretentious can you get?

How pretentious can you get?
Apparently very.
Now that I have watched the first video I posted a few times, it falls into the category of "doesn't really do it for me." Not sure why it caught my ear the other night. Maybe I was a little inebriated. Classical string pieces should be left to those who use bows.

dang.. sorry man... i didnt post the link... i will when i get home... i guess i had a couple too many beers aswell that night...lol. ;D

Pachelbel's Canon in D Major is my absolute favorite piece of classical music---has been for 20 yrs. And this guy plays it great on electric guitar--never heard anything like that before. I can do without the percussion background however--it doesn't fit the music in my taste.
that is awesome though.
I have Pachelbel's Canon as background to one of my websites....
www.InfiniteBookshelf.com
2001 Space Odyssey opens up with the first web page, then, by clicking on my book list link on the page, it takes you to my other site of books. On the left frame, one can chose from several pieces of music--one being the work of this topic.

So, to close out this thread, i would say that if you're into the whole classical rock guitar thing, this would probably be one of the better "practictioners" in the field:

We saw him locally with less than 100 people there. It was great. He came to our area promoting string instruments with kids. Our daughter played piano so she saw him in the school then we took her to where he was playing at night. Not many people knew he was playing because he just sent a notice home with the kids inviting any parents that were interested. No cover charge, in a grand hotel, good food + drinks, Awsome music.

wow... that would of been awsome... hope he comes to Canada soon

This guy is better than Jason Mraz, who grew up a few miles from me.
