Hey gang I bought the Dakota Digital gauges back in April. I followed this post http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=7638.0 and it was a real help the only issue is the Speedometer doesn't work still reads 00. The instructions that came with it said to run the red wire to the "speed" on the module and the black to the ground mine came with a grey wire and black. I also just unplugged the old speedo cable not removing it from the truck could that be causing interference? I twisted the DD speedo cable like it said in the instructions. Any help is greatly appreciated.
A few pictures of the DD after the install long ago...

Does it not move at all, even a jump? If I remember right the speedo has two gray wires that can be switch around. So that doesn't mater I would double check your ground I had that problem, once it would cause the speed to jump all around and the other time it just stoped working. Make sure you don't have all your grounds going to the same bolt that was my first problem. Don't know what I was thinking

You ran the ground back to the controller? Is the speed sensor hooked up right? Check your connections and perform the calibration.

Even with out the cal. It should read something

It just stays at 00 doesn't jump around or nothing. I'm going to remove the dash this weekend and re-check all the wires. I do believe I have the ground all going to one bolt under the dash. During the calibration nothing happens you cycle through the modes but when you travel the mile the gauge just goes back to 00 it never registers a speed during or after the test.

When I lost grd all I lost was the speedo

The ground should be connected to the controller
