ok. thanks in advanced, I am have a 84 swb silverado, I am about to start a engine swap on it, from what I have read, when doing this swap and If I buy the "regular" mount adapters it sits the new engine where the old sbc just to sit, but if I do that because a difference on transmission lenghts I am going to have the drive-shaft re lenghts( think is 1-2' shorter) . but there is now the adapter plates that allow you to move the engine and tranny forward about 1' , my question is
has anyone done this swap with out having to get your driveshaft re-lenght?
I am just tyring to get it all sort out before I start,,, cant wait....... ;D, I will post pics on the thread when I start.

I had mounts that move them forward, problem is now you are getting everything too close to the shroud/radiator.
It is much easier to modify the driveshaft length.

well I guess I am just nervous about having it done. I thougth I could get it close to the radiator, since there is going to be to shroud since I am going to be using pusher fans between grill and rad.. but thanks... have you done this swap and if you have, How did you get your speedometer to work using the 4l60E tranny?

you should be able to find a shop around that will shorten it for you. Really does not involve much at all. sorry i can help on the spedo question i am running Dakota Digital but i think i can get you the info i will look.

you can use a sender for the speedo.
