Title: heater control
Post by: bowtieguy80 on January 14, 2010, 07:09:29 pm
Anyone know where to find a heater control panel for a '82 chev with ac? Mine is hopelessly wore out and a used one is probably not going to be much better.

     Thanks, Vile.
Another option I was thinking about is that is it possible to swap my controller for one that fits an '83-'87? They seem to be cheaper and a better. Is it an easy swap or does it involve some more extensive swapping?

On a related note, I'm in need of the connector for the blower switch on my 79 (with factory A/C). I can only find the 83 and up flavor (4 pins in a straight line).

Mine looks like this:  |  |

Does anyone know where to find this connector at? If not, can I retrofit the 83 up switch and connector into my unit? If not, can I retrofit the newer panel into mine and have the vacuum lines and other connector on the vacuum head all work out?

i would cut the wires and just add some female spade connectors what ever they are called if you have to.

I'm trying to avoid the ghetto approach. I may see if I can find a decent one at the boneyard. However, I'd still appreciate any leads on a new one though.

$49 is cheap enough for a new controller. If you want to start swapping everything else around it's gunna cost you a lot more.

The controler that you actually move with your hand is the piece that is wobbled out. I was looking for that part. Thanks.
