Hello everybody, again. I was wondering if someone could direct me to a link on fuel delivery. I have an 87' R Series, 2WD that I had to put a motor in... A carburetored motor. It does have two fuel tanks and I am using only the passenger side tank (because the switch does not work). I think i might have burned up the intank fuel pump(s). I never had a return line hooked up to my carb... Since I put the motor in, it has always had a mechanical fuel pump. I did however try to play with the electronic pump, and thats when i think i might have burned it up, and it always had to much pressure, (fuel spilling out the side of the double pump). I did not know what else I needed to use the electronic pump. There is no plan on going to fuel injection... So I was wondering, should I replace the intank electronic fuel pumps to carbureted pumps or keep what I have? Everytime the truck has been sittin for a couple days, I would have to prime the carb to start it... And when it does start and run (after I prime it), she runs fine, idles fine, and drives fine. And I would also like to fix the duel tank switch if and when i can figure out my fuel delivery. Some help from anyone would be much appreciated! Thank you.

If you plan to use Carbs I would drop the tanks and put in non-EFI sending units and reroute the lines. If you plan to use the electronic in tank pumps you will have to put a regulator on it and return all the fuel to the tank via switching valve because the pump puts out 18lbs and a carb only needs 5lbs.

How do I test the units that I have to see if there salvagable? And if there not what kind of units do i need, three or four inlet??

Which why are you going? Intank or not?
If you plan to go with just a block mounted pump, just get a 2 outlet sending unit (3 outlets, supply, vent return, vent.

Yeah, i'll probably stick with the machanical pump and get some new intank sending units. I am adding a few pics because a few months back I changed engines. That half fast race engine was just too much!!! That and it is a great runner toO! Nothing purdy, just easier on the wallet.
So where would i start on my tank selector problems??

Them flames sure do make that truck stand out...in a good way. Can you get a pic of the truck with the hood closed?
