Title: Size of Factory Speakers behind the seat?

Hello, What stock size are the two speakers (cab corners) behind the seat on my 86 chevy pickup?..I'am not around my truck right now, so was wondering if anyone knew off hand...thanks

Couldnt tell ya off hand BUT I think theres somebody on here that makes a conversion kit to put in 6x9's in the back corner and that makes a big difference.

O wow........this whole time I thought they were for 6x9's......they'll be getting ditched....

Thanks for the info, I was thinking about replaceing them with factory size new speakers.

The only problem is there are no really good replacements for the 4x10 and they can't handle nearly as much power as a 6x9 before distorting.  You should grab a set of 6x9 brackets from bigblock73 next time he's offering them or make your own.

yea I would think 4x10's would really be a waste myself, I did see someone(won't name other company) makes a bracket to for 2 4 inch speakers to go in the middle of you're dash where the single 4x10 speaker went.

I have a kicker 4x10 in my dash that works very nice but a 6x9 would probably be better if you are willing to spend the extra time and money.
