They said Monday we in Northern Maryland were getting a foot
Then yesterday they said that it is tracking too far south and it will be sunny
We have around 6 inches right now and it still snowing ;D

I wish.....

I wish.....
No, you don't wish. Digging out the driveway of 12+" of snow for 4 vehicles isn't something someone looks forward to as a fun task, unless the person thrives on pushing lungs and muscles to the limit while enduring aches of what should be a stronger back. Thanks to a more or less sedentary life, partly due to sitting behind a desk 40 hours a week, and reminiscing of the earlier days of marathon running, my back tomorrow will, no doubt, be as sore as a KO victim in the 10th round of a boxing match tomorrow. A snow storm, especially if it is the second 12+" storm in as many months, adding to the fact of record-breaking cold temperatures, assists in making life quite interesting for several days.

i just drove my k20 with 16" swampers back and forth till it all got pushed down. took the lazy way out of it this time
-
I'd love it if we got snow like that sometimes around here. I'd be the only fool out driving in it. ;D

Ditto...I think we have had at most, 4 inches in one fall this year. There is maybe drifts 1-1.5 ft tall around here.....bad.

We got maaaaaaybe like 0.42" accumulation. If they say on the news it's gonna snow, they close up the schools and everybody clears out the stores of all the bread and milk...lol I dunno why, but if Im gonna be stranded I want somethin better than bread and milk to live on. Then the next mornin there's only snow on the grass and the roads are void of cars. so I go out and sunday drive since I'm the only one out there...lol And I never really see anybody stuck in the ditches except for the 4x4's. guess they weren't so invincible afterall ;D
-
And I never really see anybody stuck in the ditches except for the 4x4's.
that's exactly what happens. These city 4x4 drivers...you know, the ones who really don't know anything about 4x4's and surely don't use them off road to get used to their handling, etc.. are the only ones who spin around and end up on their roofs or off the road. The front wheel drive car drivers pass right on by them no problem. There is a sense of invincibility i guess when one drives the 4x4's with more clearance or whatever, they end up going too fast.

It figures, I live a mile from the Lakeside Community in Henrico Country and this is from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the Richmond paper....the largest amt of reported snow is from Lakeside, 14 inches.
Area snowfall yesterday reached 14 inches in Henrico County's Lakeside, 13 inches in Short Pump, 12.8 inches in Studley in Hanover County, 11.4 inches in Richmond, 11 inches in Chesterfield County and 9.5 inches at Richmond International Airport, the National Weather Service said. Across the state, unusually high snowfalls included 9 inches in Virginia Beach.

-
All Right. The forecast just made my day!!! More Snow!! Tuesday more snow, this weekend more snow, man, i am in heaven. This is awesome.
Can sarcasm be detected?
I HATE SNOW NOW!!!!
-
Oh yeah, well I had to take my coat off at lunch today. Got too hot ;D
-
finally someone hates it like me, you know when i was a kid snow meant no school now snow means risking your life or truck just to get to work cause you work for the state and your mandatory.
-
When we were kids growing up in west Germany the buses always got stuck when it snowed so the Barracks would send a 4' ton military troop carrier out for us..made our day...ha ha
Its ok to look at but its just glorified rain at the end of the day.. ;)
-

the thing about snow, if you are prepared for it and have the equipment to shovel it, and the state/county has the correct number of snow plows to clear the road, etc... then it is no problem.
When you see two snow storms of 12" and 14" just weeks apart in a southern city, at which place, the last time this place has seen 12" at one time was in 1996, it kind of throws everything out of wack.
My back still hurts from shovelling my driveway and now I must shovel at my mother in laws. The reason i have no snow plow for my ATV you ask? These storms are supposed to be very, very infrequent.
They are calling for our third major dumping this friday night yet again!!! Where is Al Gore?
-
Our third snow storm in 6 weeks w/ over a foot of snow is underway. There is a reason i don't live in Alaska. Gettin' tired of the white stuff. Calling for 6 inches today, then another 6" Saturday, sleet in between. Washington D.C. , Fredericksburg, and Charlotesville to get 2 feet!! I took the day off--I don't wanna mess w/ this stuff.
There's yet another storm Brewing for Tues/Wed this week, but, New England will get hit worse than us this time. And, there will be a President's Day strom to show up in about 9 days in the long range forecast.

well i just had to drive to work it was about 4-6" when i left work in Maryland had to drive into 2' drifts fun let me tell ya. by time i got to Del its was still about 6" but had a city worker run a red light well not run it he had a plow and flashing yellow lights on he stops for the light then goes into the intersection and stops to do a u turn lets just say i had to lock up the brakes i was only going about 25 stalled my truck and just missed him once i got it started again i just floored it in the middle of the intersection where he still was and had my truck side ways needless to say i piped him lol.
-
We got 5" yesterday. Then it changed to rain overnight. Then before dawn, it began snowing again and continues to snow here in Richmond. We may get another 4-8" today.
I wish I could be as vague at my job than that of meteorologists. I can see myself now..."well for our next fiscal year, we will have in our budget between $5.00 and $5 million we can spend. "
Or, in policy, "to serve that warrant, you can serve the defendant or, perhaps, a friend of the nieghbor's---doesn't really matter.".
-
we are in about 30 inches the pups wont even go out the front door if i open it lol
-
Would this be an inappropriate time to mention I'm wearing shorts and a tshirt on while enjoying 70 degree weather? ::)
-
i know im right down the street from brook road, and the only thing that can get out of my driveway, its a hellacious slope is the good ol 79 k10 ;D
-
Snow, Snow, wish it would go. Used to feel glad, now it makes me feel mad. Shovelled all my land, blisters on my hands. Blacktop driveway is not too black, but my muscles are rebelling in my back. Summer can't be here soon enough, for this winter, she's been tough. 6 inches here yesterday, another 7+ this day, when will it go away? This white stuff is making me delerious, I'd hate for someone to start taking me serious.
I have to keep on wishin' for the day I'll be at the river house fishin'.

-
yeah, you guys got much more than we did. I'm still trying to find out if Wash. D.C. got over 30 inches. I'll find out tomorrow when i download the sunday Washington Post on my kindle i guess.
I don't want anymore. 3 storms for Richmond is enough! BTW, we got another coming Tuesday night.
-

-
i wonder if Al Gore got rid of his heater in his mansion, since we are warming up so much. Yes, it snowed yesterday on his roof in Carthage, TN.
-
well I rigged my drive shft with parts from a good one now its broke that's one shaft per big snow storm we had this year
-
you better have two more on standby because anutter snow storm coming thru Sat and another on Monday.
-
We've had quite a bit of rain here recently, but just a few flurries today. Its nice, and I really like the rain, but I'm getting tired of playing in the mud everyday. Im kinda picky about keeping my truck clean, especially the inside, and its hard to do when driving down miles of muddy lease roads, and stomping around muddy locations trying to fix problems with the rigs. One thing is for sure, I'm glad I bought a 4wd ;). If I hadnt, I would have spent most of my time trying to get unstuck. Kuhmo Roadventures definately work good at self cleaning in the mud, and I have proof, it's all over my truck> ;D
-
i'll trade you, your rain and mud for my feet of snow outside. I'm tired of it. roads are icy, parking lots at work and shopping are iced over, moutains of snow piled up all of the place, takes me 5 minutes to get to my mailbox....and yeah, they're calling for another major snowstorm Monday.
-
No thanks, at least the mud around here doesnt rot the trucks out, and is only for a short time.
-
It's a 102, a 102 in the shade!!! Sounds like a Seldome Scene Bluegrass Band song, anyway, thought I'd bring up some cooling threads from the worst winter we've had in decades. Wouldn't you know it? After a month of 90's and 100's---we've had more triple digits here this summer than we've had in two decades and it is still July!
the worst winter, the worst Summer......what the heck is going on?
It's 102 now, calling for 104 tomorrow in Virginia.
Well, thought i'd bring up some snow pics from February....
-
Ahhhhhhh the cool memorys
-
We got 11 inches of rain out here. Thank God for trucks!
-
Had a lady come in the store yesterday complaining about how hot it is here in Ohio. I told her, give it a few months and we'll be shoveling snow again ;D ;D ;D
-
after a record breaking winter with snowfall accumulations, Richmond just beat a record since they started keeping records in the 1860's. We got 10 days of 100 degrees + in July. Unheard of!
Including June, we've had more triple digit temperatures since 1958. We ain't seen August yet. The last 100 degree day before this summer was two years ago--one day.
I think the Mayans were right. 2012, look out! The north pole will be the south. Get some credit cards and enjoy the next two years for free!!!
-
Disney world here we come ;D
