Looking to replace my front brake pads on my truck, interested on opinions on brand, and material type, Metallic, Semi-Metallic, Organic. Truck is street driven, on nice days, 2WD, Allready have new G.M. rotors, THANK'S

I use the basic semi-metallic pads with great success, but Im not hard on my brakes either, so they last a long time. I dont like the metallic becasue they seem harder on the rotors, and I dont like the squeal thats associated with them. I dont know about the organic brakes, never used them.

I allways use GM/delco brakes, No squealing
Get them form the dealer

Brake pads from the dealer? Man I would never have even considered that. Just assumed it would be a lot of extra money for nothing. I have used the cheap semi-metallic pads with no trouble, but...In my s-10 Blazer (4 wheel discs) the semi-metallic pads didn't last any time at all. Don't know why. I switched to ceramic and they outlasted semi-metallic about 4 times over. Both sets of pads were on cheap composite rotors. The semi-metallic lasted barely over a year. The ceramic lasted almost 4 years. The cheap rotors lasted just fine.

Same price as the local NAPA.

Stay away from organic pads, there's a reason they are cheap.

NAPA isn't exactly the cheapest parts store.
