Title: No weld panel patching
Post by: Ricoh on February 03, 2010, 08:38:53 am
Has anyone tried the no weld panel patching kit from Eastwood? It flanges the edge of the part and then you glue the panel and hold it in there with recessed rivets. The reason I ask is I sold my welder because I had a Pacemaker put in to save my life and I am not allowed to weld anymore ( something to do with electrical fields being generated). I want to fill my sidemarker lights ,etc.... and still want to do the work myself.

If it's done correctly panel bonding is great.

I would even say if you can skip the rivetting part, even better. Todays adhesives can hold a small piece one just fine.

With the right preparation, it would probally work pretty good.
