I want to change my hubs from auto locking to manual locking hubs. Any special things I should consider before purchasing the new hubs? What does this job entail? Just pull the auto hubs and swap in the manual hubs, or do I need to do things to the transfer case also? Truck appears to be stock. Right down to the am/fm radio with the craclking dash speaker.
One thing I did notice is that it has 5 allen screws holding on the hubs while all the aftermarket manual hubs have 6 screws.

Nope, very easy. Snap ring pliers and a ice pick make it easier. If I remember right the new hubs come with instructions.

Its a easy swap. What brand of hubs do you have? Do you know what transfer case you have? If you have the 203, consider getting the conversion kit if it doesnt already have it.

Well I am going to order the new hubs so looking for advice as to what brands seem to hold up well.
The transfer case is a np208 from what I read with 2wd high ,then 4wd then nuetral then 4 low. http://www.off-road.com/trucks4x4/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=200867
When in 2wd it seems to be thumping as I slow down or turn, but the problems go away as soon as I put it in 4wd.

Mile Marker and Warn are quite popular. Either I've had good luck with.

Thanks to all who answered my questions. I ordered the mile marker set.
