Yes you can. Are you planning on swapping over the computer and fuel injection?

yes i want to swap every thing, except my tranny, will it bolt up? my motor has alot of miles, and i think the newer vrtech will get better milage
the 99 is coming from a wrecked vehicle, so i should be able to get what ever i need from it, im not sure if it is 4x4

the motor and trany will bolt up even if the donor was a 4x4 you cant use the tranny due to the transfer case being on the drives side unless you move that around but you just better off using your tranny.

Anything is possible with enough time and $$ but it would be a lot easier just to go with a TBI motor.
I know the vortec motor puts out more HP but is it worth the effort?

Fitz, it'd be about the same amount of work.
