I think the heat riser valve only helps with warm up. True or False?
I am currently replacing exhaust manifold gaskets an noticed there is no gate inside the valve.
If I decide not to replace the heat riser valve, would this affect overall performance?

It's mainly used to reduce warm up time to decrease emissions not necessarily for driveability.

That's what I thought.
Thank You Sir
