I have an 87 k20 4x4, I installed a new heater core, after I was done my controls wont adjust the air flow where I need it i.e. defrost vent etc I know my cables are connected right because I marked them before disassembly any suggestions?

Sounds like you didn't hook it up correctly. Check your vacuum actuators, the blend door and make sure the cables are secured in the control head and on the blend door actuator.

I know all my cables and vacume lines are secure but I think I remember(it's been a while since I fixed my core) that I had problems with the blender door when I took out the heater box is it possible to screw up the rod that the blender door swings on? Thanks for your reply!

Yes it is

Will I have to get a new heater box? I'f I remember right I think I might have stripped it out at the bottom, I believe the rod is somewhat square at the bottom where you can see it from the outside?

Take it apart and see.
