anyone done this before... I just purchased a rear sway bar and brackets/links for 25 bucks and it looks like it will fit. Ive got the bracket idea down and transfered it to autocad. This is how i plan to mount it.

Basically a 2pc bracket, one that has the 3 tabs, and the other to attach the sway bar mount to (it will be welded together. The Shock bolt will go through the brackets 90* bends, while the 45 ish bend gets bolted to the back side of the shock tab for strengh/sturdyness. the bottom flat bracket will get welded to the other. It sounds like it will work out.. Maybe this or next weekend I can play around with some sheet metal and see what I come up with. As far as the end links, they will have to be lengthened of course, but once I get the bar mounted to the axle I can see what I really have to work with.

I'm just gonna get this out of the way: What does OBS and OOBS mean?
-
Old Body Style and...i dont know the other one. We really should use Generation #s because every time a new body style comes out, the previous one is OBS...
-
What gen are we on anyway? So many different variables; I think we ought to do the model years to simplify.
-
Im wondering if OOBS id "older old body style". hshs
-
Generally, OBS refers to the GMT400 trucks, and OOBS (Old Old Body Style) to the 73-87 trucks. It is all relative to what you own, as an owner of a 67 would call a 60-66 OBS, but generally accepted terminology is above. Confused yet? :D
-
The OBS and OOBS terms were once very effective on NBS sites. That was until the NNBS came along and now we have NNNBS so that makes the OOBS really an OOOOOOOBS....I think...;)
-
So, would the 73-87 style be 4th gen?
-
To my understanding we are 3rd generation. 1st being 60-66, 2nd being 67-72, and 3rd being 73-87/-91. Not sure why the 50's trucks are not included in on there.
-
So the obs is oobs, and oooobs is just mmo, the nnb is really nnnbs, that means the uumv is the iints, and the rrft should of been ffde, instead its asjkln............ :P
modularfox, I am interested in whether it will work or not, would be a good addition for a lowered truck.
