85 GMC (Cross Bred) K10.
I have been under the truck a bunch here these last few days, and remember thinking man this Oil pan gasket will be a breeze to change out! It didn't dawn on me at the time..There is no cross member under the oil pan, or center of the engine? Am I the only one? did any of these trucks come out like this? There is a small cross member towards the front of the engine compartment. Any body have any pics of their K10 cross member?
I will take some pics under mine..Oh and it's missing a U Bolt under the pumpkin side on the front Diff..LOL.

It might look like the pan will come right off, but you still have to raise the motor 2 or more inches.

Yep thats what my 78 shorty looks like

You won't have to raise the engine at all to get the oil pan off. I've replaced a couple of them by just dropping the pan off.

Stock hight 4x4 the pan will drop right out with out raising the motor.

Well I guess I'm not special..LOL..mine looks just like that also. This is one time I'm glad I'm not special! ;D
