Just had a crazy idea today. I know it would take a bit of sheetmetal magic, but do you guys think it would be possible to put new style headlights (i.e. 2010 Silverado) on an 81-87 frontend? Or would it just look butt ugly? I haven't had a chance to actually stand in person and study the shape and size of them but I like the look of the wraparound healight/sidemarker combo unit and I'm trying to visualize it on an 81-87. I think almost all of you would advise against it but I'd like to hear your opinions anyway.
-
I seen people take the 96-98 one peice lights and use them on the 89-91 suburban front ends, but not the really new head lights.
-
It would probably look similar to the escalade front clip someone had brought up earlier. I think it would look different. Variety is always cool.
-
In case anyone was wondering, these are the style of lights I'm talking about:

Not too sure about the lights, but that truck's ugly - somehow the mural behind fits perfectly
-
Given the right tools and equipment anythings possible. Have someone with artist talent draw it up and see what it looks like. Maybe a person that does airbrush t-shirts? Then start cutting and welding!!!!!!!!!!
-
I think they are way too big to look good on a C10 front end...
-
This style could look cool

Those are pretty awesome too! Anyone here with some good photoshop skills wanna try to do some C10s with both of these types of headlights?
-
I'm terrible with Photoshop, but here's a quick one I did, maybe someone else can do it better?

Don't swear! lol. I dunno, it doesn't look too bad to me. The 03-07 is my second fave bodystyle, I wonder how that would look too.

Well hopefully soon I can do up another one of my "amazing" photoshop renderings ha ha, this time of the 03-07
-
I would say some Coloroda lights as they are pretty flat
-
Here's my other awful rendering. I really need to learn photoshop.....

here are some more chopped up photos for you, unfortunately my editing skills are no better, lol. messed up the scale on one of them, dont know what one though, overall i would say just switch the whole front clip if you really want to do this, that includes fenders hood bumper lights and grill. it just wont look right any other way.

There is a compnay that builds prerunner fiberglass parts that does make somewhat of a conversion from a 73-87 to a 88-98 front clip/bed sides etc.....
-
I like the bottom one. Kinda looks P.Oed....
-
That bottom one looks pretty cool.
