Hi. This thread is mainly directed at the site owner/store owner. I have noticed that the complete new dash's have taken a pretty steep price increase lately. And not just here, but everywhere. I am not asking cause I need to buy one, but rather I need to sell one. Not too long ago, they were in the area of $300. And now they are in the area of $500. Did the company that made them go out of business or something? Just curious I guess. It certainly wouldn't surprise me these days. Also, if you had a used one to sell, that was in perfect condition, what would you price it at?

GM started charging more for them so the price went up.
It depends on what you mean buy used. I sold the last one I had before the price hike for the same amount even though I knew the price went up.

Well I have had mine for about 3 months, and it has only been used for about 3 weeks. I am not impressed with it, and I want to sell it. It does not fit as well as the original (go figure) and I think I would be much happier with the coverlay since it uses the original dash. So it's pretty much in perfect condition. Perhaps I should just sell it as new...

I didn't even know that GM still made them. I thought some aftermarket company had just bought the rights to make them or something.

Depends on where you got it, there is a company that reproduces them, they are about 1/2 as much.

JcWhitney. The underside is not metal like the originals, it's plastic. It's not all that bad, it even fits well. My only problem is that it doesn't seem to extend quite as far as it needs to, on the right. It leaves a small 1/2" gap between the a pillar and the dash. Minor things like that bother me, and the original dash didn't do it. So it's gotta go.

Is it skinned Vinyl? If so, you will never get $455 out of it. The ones I have are Actually GM dashes.
The one you have is a $285 Dashed Direct. And if it makes you feel better, they fit fairly close to the $455 version. You won't ever find one that fits like the one that came of it.

Even the one I have that came brand new in this truck, doesn't fit super-excellent.

Thanks that does help me fill in a few gaps in my information. Sounds like all in all, the coverlay is the best bet for fitment and original look. Makes sense, cause it uses the old dash as a base.
