when i pull the #1 plug do i have the ditributer cap off while turning the engine?
-
After you get the engine to TDC, you will need to know where the rotor is to place the #1 wire properly.
-
i have a comression tester i can plug that into #1 and whent its at tdc what should compression be?
-
You will only have compression on the compression stroke. When you start to build compression, then look at the timing marks on the balancer to line it up.

do i crank it with the ignition or by hand? if by hand how do i do that? sry for all the ?s am a newbie.
-
If all you did was pull the wires off, you shouldn't have to find tdc
-
I thought I posted on here before, but it looks like it disappeared. If all you did was remove the cap, and wires, this should help. The only time you need to worry about TDC is if you remove the distributor, or if someone else did in the past and put it in wrong. Put it back together this way, and then if it doesnt work right, we'll help find TDC.
