I have a 78 chevy k10 fullsize. I have a problem with the driveshaft. the slipjoint is siezed. we are looking for another driveshaft, but mine bolts at both ends. it doesnt slide into the transfer case unless im overlooking something. its a 1/2 ton 4 wheel drive...
-
Are you asking a question?
-
Is it seized as in rust or unknown? My front shaft was held together with old grease that had hardened. A lot of weasel p, beater and finally a little heat and I finally got it apart.
Done on the bench, much easier to work and retrieve the tools you throw out of frustration. ;)

ive worked my tail off. sorry i got distracted with my original question. Do some shafts slip into the transfer case and some bolt to the yolk or are they all the same design and bolt to the yolk, but slide out of the transfer case.
-
Are you talking about the front or rear shafts the front bolts to the yoke or flange and slips in the shaft and the rear can bolt to the rear output shaft and slip in the driveshaft "slip yoke" or slip on the rear output shaft I can't think what they are called
-
this is on the rear drive shaft. it has U bolts connecting it to the transfer case and U bolts connecting it to the rear end. its a one piece shaft. is that normal or do most slip into the transfer case...
-
That's the way mine is set up. U-bolts to the transfer case -slip yoke- main shaft- u-bolts to the rear.
-
It has to slip somewhere if its a solid shaft then it slips in the out put shaft "slip yoke"
-
anyone have pictures???

Vile, so thats the bolt on type correct? what did you pay for that.
-
Yes that bolts on to the yokes at both ends. I forget what I paid but I got a deal because I know the sales rep from the company.
-
thats awsome. I think we located one. its onehundred and fifty bucks... ah well. any way to get new yokes for them?
-
Vile, can you ask where that yoke came from?
